Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Marketing Communications will lead the creation, execution, and optimization of all marketing communication strategies. This role will involve developing strategies to communicate the brand message across various channels and overseeing the public relations, advertising, digital content, and promotional activities that promote the company’s presence in the sanitaryware industry. The AGM will work cross-functionally with teams like sales, product management, and external stakeholders to enhance brand visibility and achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Marketing Communication Strategy: Lead the formulation of a comprehensive marketing communications plan that supports the company’s overall strategic objectives and enhances brand awareness in the market.

Brand Messaging & Positioning: Ensure the consistent delivery of key brand messages across all marketing materials and communication channels, ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy.

Media Relations & Public Relations: Manage relationships with media outlets, influencers, and public relations agencies. Ensure effective coverage of the company’s activities, product launches, and brand stories.

Digital Marketing & Content Strategy: Oversee the creation and execution of digital marketing campaigns, including content development for websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and email marketing.

Internal and External Communications: Manage internal communications for staff and executives, ensuring transparency and alignment across departments, while also handling external communications with customers, partners, and stakeholders.

Advertising Campaigns: Develop, execute, and monitor advertising campaigns across digital, print, and other traditional platforms, measuring the impact of each campaign.

Crisis Communication: Lead the communication efforts during crises, ensuring appropriate messaging and media management to protect the brand’s reputation.

Events & Trade Show Strategy: Lead and coordinate the company’s participation in trade shows, industry events, and product launch events, ensuring the brand’s presence is impactful and strategically aligned.

Collaborative Strategy Execution: Work closely with the sales, product, and customer experience teams to ensure marketing communication strategies are aligned with product launches, sales goals, and customer engagement strategies.

Budget Management: Manage and allocate the marketing communications budget effectively, ensuring efficient resource utilization for maximum ROI.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering an environment of continuous learning, innovation, and high performance.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Proven experience in Marketing Communications leadership roles within the Sanitaryware, Building Materials, or Consumer Durables industries.

Strong media relations experience, including handling media inquiries, writing press releases, and securing positive media coverage.

In-depth understanding of digital marketing, content creation, and social media strategies.

Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a team of communications professionals.

Strong experience in advertising, brand communication, and public relations.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a creative mindset for messaging and storytelling.

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple campaigns and initiatives.

Familiarity with marketing tools such as Google Analytics, SEO, social media management tools, and CRM systems.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in managing international communication strategies or working across global markets.

Exposure to B2B and B2C marketing communications.

Familiarity with market research to understand consumer preferences and develop targeted communication strategies.

Knowledge of advertising technologies like programmatic advertising, ad-tech tools, and data-driven advertising.

Experience with sustainability communications, as eco-friendly and sustainable practices are important in the sanitaryware industry.

Brand Visibility & Awareness: Increase in brand visibility, media mentions, and overall brand awareness.

Lead Generation: Contribution of marketing communications to generating qualified leads and sales conversions.

Media & PR Coverage: Number of positive media placements and the overall quality of media coverage.

Engagement Metrics: Growth in engagement across digital platforms, including social media, website visits, and email open rates.

Event Success: Successful execution of marketing events, product launches, and industry trade shows with measurable impact.
